I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 2016. During this program I worked in various auto shops, fixing cars and gaining very useful experience. I moved around the big auto franchise companies in Nigeria: Elizade, Coscharis and Germaine. I worked mostly as a technician but I also worked as a technical service advisor, and one time an acting/interim workshop manager. At some point I was a technical consultant for a small logistics company.
In 2017 I moved to Canada to pursue (another) Bachelors, this time a B. Engineering in Automotive Engineering. During this time, I worked summers in a factory as a seat assembler, and as a production group lead in General Motors of Canada. In my second year, I was a Residence Advisor in the on campus residence where I lived. I gave support to students, tutored engineering first years, and ensured the safety of the students on the residence. The tutoring in this position tied into my 2 year turning at my high school, Louisville Girls', Nigeria. I continued to Tutor in my fourth year with the Ontario Tech Student life, as a Peer Tutor. I was involved in Women In Engineering peer mentorship, the Ontario Tech Racing team and I take on small scale 3-D modelling jobs using mostly Solidworks and NX.
I graduated from Ontario Tech University in June 2021, with distinction. I worked at Tesla for almost a year after graduation, on the Active and Passive Safety Test team, testing the Autopilot software. In April 2022 I joined Stellantis (formerly Fiat Chrysler, formerly Chrysler) as a Diagnotics Engineer. I also started my Masters at Ontario Tech in September 2023. My research (when I finally start) will focus on path planning algorithms for autonomous heavy duty articulated vehicles.
My goal is to become a research and design/development engineer, specifically in the field of control systems for autonomous systems or electric and hybrid vehicles. I am constantly looking to pick up skills to enable me to be successful.
